School Meals
We are proud of the quality and variety of the food we are able to serve to our children through our school meals service. Millennium Primary School is part of Greenwich Borough, and you may remember that this is where the Jamie Oliver school dinner revolution began.
All of the meals are healthy and nutritionally balanced, and a wide range of choice is available for the children each day. Vegetarian options are always on the menu. Salad is available as an accompaniment to the main course every day and fruit is always an option for dessert.
Here are just some of the delicious choices available in one week:
Cowboy Casserole, Tomato pasta with cheese, Lemon & Garlic Chicken, Meditteranean Lamb, Lamb & Onion Pie, Italian Pasta bake, Cheese Hotpot, Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan Bread, Mexican Bean stew, Lasagne, Fish Pie.
Our meals are cooked in our kitchen. It is important to let us know if your child is going to be late as we need to know the total number of meals required by 10.00am each day. We will be unable to provide a lunch for your child if you do not inform us by this time.
We prefer to collect lunch money at the start of the week. If you give your child lunch money please make sure it is placed in an envelope with her/his name and class clearly marked. The school can not accept responsibility for the loss of any monies.
Please let us know whether your child has any special dietary needs.
Packed Lunches
You may prefer your child to have a packed lunch. This should be a properly balanced meal, eg. sandwiches/cheese and biscuits, crisps, yoghurt, fruit and a fruit juice drink. We do not allow sweets, chocolate bars and "fizzy pop". Your child may go home for lunch, but in the interests of safety, he/she should not return to school until five minutes before the afternoon session begins.
